a valentines date

Our first Valentines as a married couple!

Hunter and I went out for our Valentines date last night, because you know, he works late every day except Wednesday. And it actually worked out a lot better because this weekend would have been nuts!! About a week ago when we planned to go, I asked Hunter if he was going to plan it or if he wanted to plan it together. Of course being the sweetheart he is he said that he wanted to plan it. I only gave him one rule- it can't be fast food. So earlier this week he texts me telling me to sign up for a free Chipotle burrito. How nice, a free lunch for me!  (He thinks Chipotle is disgusting) Then as soon as I replied saying that I signed up he says, " Good. Me too. Now our date is set!" So he thought this was the funniest joke because I was like, uh...not happening, you can do way better than that!! Haha I guess it was kind of funny, made dinner more of a surprise. He kept that joke going all week. The cutest was that the day before we were driving home and he smiles and says in the most sincere way, "Tomorrow is date night!!" I was so looking forward to spending the night out with just him!! Its amazing how different it feels to go on a date rather than just chillin at home. Ahhh, so refreshing.

I met him at work so that we could drive there together. We chatted the whole drive, talked about our day, laughed, talked about our blessings, our wants in life. It was so, so good. We ended up at the Riverwoods and went to Tucanos! All fancy smancy and all (heart eyes). There was a wait so we walked in and out of some stores in the freezing cold, I wouldn't let go of his arm. Victoria Secret was conveniently very warm ;) The food was SO good. Maybe i am just sick of my own cooking but dang, it hit the spot. Starting with their salad! We talked about how the last time we were here was for his 18th birthday and our waitress had the cutest name. We decided it would be the name we would name our first daughter (not to be revealed ;)). He could have sworn we found the name from a waitress that was hitting on him one time when he was out with his friends, buuuut we were definitely together. At Tucanos. Ha! Anyways the food was delicious!! We left, wanting to take a picture but if you know Hunter at all that is not his favorite thing to do and has no patience with it haha. It was so freaking cold or else I would have made him get a better one. So #selfie. Turned out poorly. Oh well! I'll take what I can get. :) Afterwards we drove home, talked and laughed and loved some more! We stopped by Walmart to see if we could find Hunter any pants for work. I don't know why but Walmart always creates memories...! Haha! We looked through the hideous clothes and I tried to make him buy me nasty lingerie. He just looked at me like he was so disgusted and rolled his eyes at me. HAHAHA. I was dying. But especially when he came out of the dressing room in those jeans. He looked like a 5 year old in a 50 year old man's Wranglers hahahaha. It was quite hilarious. Strike for walmart!

Oh what a night. These nights are my favorite. Making memories that we will never forget. Spending time together that makes us stronger together. And loving each other more than we can imagine. I love my valentine, I will celebrate him every day for the rest of my life. <3
