sunday thoughts

as i typed the title of this is just came up with a new goal for myself...just to see how good i can be at it. it is to make a post about my sunday thoughts each week. i always have them, so why not write them down to help improve myself and review them during the week?

this week was fast and testimony meeting. it was just what i needed this sunday, fasting. i didn't use to look forward to fast sunday much, because i felt like i couldn't not eat. but on my mission i really learned the meaning of fasting and learned how to do it in the right way, even if it means i only skip one meal. the purpose of fasting is what we are fasting for. last night as Hunter and I were praying i felt suddenly and strongly what i should add to our fast. it seemed like my own thoughts at first but i know it was the spirit telling me that even that thing is something i can and should fast for.

during sacrament as i was laying my head on Hunter's shoulder, feeling secure and safe i felt so grateful for the sacrament ordinance and the fact of knowing how hard this past week had been both physically and emotionally, that i was clean again and ready to try again this week. knowing that i have the holy ghost to guide me throughout the week gives me so much hope. sometimes its the hope that i need to get me through the day.  i don't think i'll ever be able to express my love and gratitude for the atonement and the savior who makes that possible. i'm grateful to be a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints where i know the truth is.

until next sunday...!
