home away from home

the hardest thing about living at home away from our home is all of the people we love not being around us constantly. even though i did it for a year and a half it still doesn't make it easy. i long to be a part of my family and friends lives...this really hit me when i found out that i would be missing 5 of my mission companions weddings. just being newlyweds, there is no way i could fly out each weekend for these weddings, the only option i had would be to go home a month before hunter and that just wasn't going to happen (sorry i love my husband more). but i wish with all my heart that i could be there for my closest, truest friends for them on the happiest days of their lives!

friendship=trust. in so many aspects this is true. trust that even though i can't be there physically, for them to know how much i love them and how happy i am for them. i'm glad i have friends who still love me no matter what and that we can have a friendship that cannot be broken.

although i am SO grateful for the friends we have made out here! i think that the people that enter our lives are one of the most important things in life to cherish- the relationships we make with them.

my current excitement

as the time gets closer to going home to Utah, i think to myself how WEIRD its going to feel to not live in North Carolina anymore. it will feel good, but weird!

I am really EXCITED to get going on my learning and schooling and experience that awaits me in Utah. right now the thing i'm most excited for is Interior Design. learning about it, practicing it, looking at it (my fav) and anything to do with it! today i went on a rampage of reading interior design blogs- from lighting, to textures, to color, to the hard goods ;) and it made me GIDDY (heart eyes).

here are some of my current obsessions to go along with my current excitement...

that brick wall. i'm in love. & the neutral feel.

open shelves. the will be in my kitchen one day.

window seats. art sitting on window seat. natural light.

the RM life

aren't they beauts?

welp, i've been home for almost 3 weeks now. its kinda hard to explain the feeling unless you've felt it before. it feels like i never left but at the same time i feel so weird to be home. i love being home with my family though!! i sure have missed them. i thought it would be weird coming home and not having hunter here...but its been a blessing and i've only felt peace and knowing he shouldn't be anywhere else. i love being a "missionary girlfriend" finally! :)

I had a little interview with my bishop yesterday. this is the council he gave me for when my sweetheart returns...

"kiss like you mean it, but don't make it long."

i'll take it. ;)
