the talk starts with a statement- "a saint is a sinner who keeps on trying." i LOVE this. how often do i mess up? every day, multiple times a day. but do i quit? nope. even though sometimes i feel like i can't i try to keep pushing through it and forgiving myself so that i can be forgiven.
KEEP TRYING!
" God cares a lot more about who we are and who we are becoming than about who we once were."
just keep trying.
i believe this quote with my whole soul. i'm a goal setter, a learner, i always want to be improving myself and helping others. as i've set goals and TRIED to live up to them i have felt this quote to be true from a loving heavenly father. let what i learn become an action...and then let it CHANGE me.
when we keep trying, when we have hope, when we forgive, when we repent, we are happier. so just be happy! :) at my bridal shower they showed a little video of interviewing hunter asking him questions about me and our relationship. one of the questions was, "what is your favorite personality trait about kelsey?" he responded saying that he loves that i am always happy and smiling. I'm not saying this to make myself look wonderful and great, but to remind myself to always be that. and not to lose it.
we can ALWAYS improve. never be content with where i am. He knows ALL things and He will help me get to where He knows i can get. have that perfect faith in Him, which is to trust and align our will to His.
" one of God's greatest gifts to us is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final."
"no matter what, with His help, God expects Latter-day Saints to keep on trying."
i am currently reading and almost done reading Stephanie Nelsons novel, Heaven is Here. Wow, that woman got my heart. she is amazing and is a perfect example of keeping on and not giving up, being a true latter day saint.
"all of us are in need of the same infinite Atonement."
and the last quote i would like to share and invite myself and you to do is this--
" My invitation to all of us is to evaluate our lives, repent, and keep on trying. If we don't try, we're just latter-day sinners; if we don't persevere, we're latter-day quitters; and if we don't allow others to try, we're just latter-day hypocrites. As we try, persevere, and help others to do the same, we are true Latter-day Saints. As we change, we will find that God indeed cares a lot more about who we are and about who we are becoming than about who we once were."
