i said YES

The next day, Monday, he proposed. The day before i had remembered the time capsule we had made like 4 years ago and wanted to open it that night! He kept saying “no lets just wait till the morning.” But i had work, and other things to do so i was insisting we did it that night. He tried and tried…i started opening it then all the sudden i was like “nah, fine we will wait but not at 8am. after my appointment!” We agreed. I came home from my appointment, we chatted with my family and then we went out on my front porch to open it. The thought came to my head once that maybe he would propose officially..but there was no way he had the ring already?? it was going to take at least 3 days. We sat on the swing and opened it. We pulled out little notes that we had written our favorite songs, what we looked like…someone stole the sour patch out of there…and then our notes we wrote to each other. Welp, shocker- Hunter never wrote one to me. So he says, “its okay, i have something better for you” he pulls out the note i had written him, unfolds it and there inside was my ring!!!! ahhh. He read my note out loud which actually fit quite well. After he told me that he loved me, got down on his knee and said, “kelsey lewis, will you marry me?” i couldn’t stop smiling and said yes yes yes! so happy. so cute. Our dream was coming true.

2011/12 

pure happeness

Well lets fast forward 3 weeks- wedding planning galore and more falling in love- and now lets go to April 16th. I finally have packed us all up for North Carolina and tonight is our wedding dinner. We went and helped set up- Hunter put me in his muslum cloak and wouldn’t let me take it off, I’m sure everyone who saw me thought i was crazy- then ran over and got ready for the night! We had a nice catered dinner with all of our family and closest friends. Hunter and I made our wedding video and showed that to everyone. Then dad, clay, kelby, ali, hunter hullinger and whitney got up and said a few words to us. Definitely got me teary eyed- every single one of them. Mostly dad. Each of them mentioned the journey we’ve been on to get to this day. And its so true…it hit me way hard. I’ve been preparing and waiting for this day for my whole life and its HAPPENING!! I will never be able to thank my family and friends enough for all of their perfect love and support.
